Communications Manager

Full-time–Brussels

Xavier Hufkens is looking for a creative digital professional to manage the gallery’s written and visual communication, and further develop our online strategy. The communications manager will collaborate closely with other departments in the gallery, including research, press and graphic design. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, is knowledgeable about art, loves writing, and is organised and methodical.

Job description :

  • oversee communication schedule including campaigns for exhibitions, fairs, videos, and public programme
  • provide copy on gallery artists, artworks and exhibitions, and act as tone of voice guardian for all the gallery’s written communication
  • run the gallery’s social media channels in close relation with research and graphic design
  • develop audiences and partnerships to encourage visibility across digital channels
  • provide insights and analytics for digital channels and produce regular reports
  • assist with press related requests
  • schedule and prepare the gallery’s e-mail campaigns
  • monitor and improve the gallery’s presence on third party websites
  • organise artist interviews filmed at the gallery and at artist studio’s and provide editorial feedback

Your profile :

  • perfect oral and written communication skills (EN)
  • awareness of latest developments and trends in digital communications
  • familiarity with project management and social media scheduling platforms
  • able to work collaboratively and independently under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus, most notably Photoshop and InDesign
  • affinity with contemporary art and a keen eye for digital trends
  • degree in Art History, Communications, or related field preferred
