The 40th edition of Kunstenfestival Watou represents movement, harmony, humanity and intensity, and follows a renewed and surprising route. Presenting works by over 30 artists, including Tracey Emin and Esther Kläs.

Performance as part of WATOU: LIVE
, Esther Kläs and Gustavo Gomes

In this installation/performance, the artists reflect on the limits of the body and performative space. In collaboration with the fashion designer Sarah Aphrodite, the piece contemplates the experience of the internal and the external, being that a body, a relationship, or a place.

In a series of choreographed “tellings” the duo reimagine the space as humans that relate to each other and the audience. All actions are important, and the duration of specific happenings become blurred, as no beginnings or ends are clear. Sculpting the places in between these two bodies and the space, reshaping the bodies with costumes, and considering different kinds of forms, DE – COR (RIFFIN) correlates radical actions coming from a place of meaning and the joy of being.
