Hands (AT), 2019

series of 14 drawings, pencil on paper
29.6 x 40.6 cm, 11 5/8 x 16 in.

A series of drawings, the performative gesture of a moving hand, and—alongside it—a quasi-cinematic, storyboard-like study of a rhododendron in the garden: two quiet observations of life. Both works function as exercises in attention, reflections on how time moves across what we see—shadows shifting, light changing, a line marking these subtle transitions and marking the passage of time. The focus is not the motif itself, but the way light, through its continual transformations, structures and reveals the contours of a world in motion.
