Emin recites a text about love in Burning Up (1997). The artist describes the feeling of being infatuated, filled with lustful happiness and the idealisation of the loved other. Accompanied by Elvis Presley’s hit song, Burning Love (1972), the film takes us through the city of Istanbul, through the crowds of nameless faces as we join Emin on her quest for this total and perfect burning love.
