Xavier Hufkens is pleased to present an online exhibition of selected photographs by Robert Mapplethorpe (1946–1989) that explores his personal relationship to fashion. These images, set alongside testimonials from collaborators, friends, and lovers, shed light on the artist’s use of clothing to express desire, disdain, kinship and love. Exhibition curation and essay by Charlie Porter.
