Huma Bhabha, Tracey Emin and Alice Neel in Sirens
Opening 16 October 2025
Group exhibition at EVA Foundation, Bucharest, Romania
The EVA Foundation, Bucharest’s newest art space, opens on October 16 in a newly restored 1930s townhouse near the city’s academic centre. The foundation describes itself as the first of its kind in Bucharest dedicated to female artists.

The inaugural group exhibition, entitled Sirens, will show a broad spectrum of work from the collection. It frames Feminism as both an approach to art making, as well as a critical lens through which artwork is comprehended. Presenting disparate and varied approaches to artistic process, some grounded in activism, others shaped by autobiographical histories and cultural traditions, the artists selected subvert first impressions. Visually alluring objects reveal heavily charged discourses.
Artists on view include Howardena Pindell, Jenny Holzer, Tracey Emin, Mona Hatoum, Huma Bhabha, Yayoi Kusama, Helen Frankenthaler, Louise Nevelson, Alice Neel, Martha Jungwirth, Latifa Echakhch, and Jaune Quick-to-See Smith.
