Saâdane Afif in Echoes of a collection

The first edition of Son Biennial, which takes place in the hear of Valais, Switzerland, is an artistic project designed to highlight the growing importance of sound in contemporary art. As a multi-disciplinary event, it seeks to blur the lines that are often too segmented between artistic disciplines that are closer than they appear. As part of the Biennale, Fondation Louis Moret in Martigny will present works by Saâdane Afif, Tom Johnson and Roman Signer for the exhibition Echoes of a collection - Works from the Frac Franche-Comté.
In the framework of the Biennale, on 16 September Saâdane Afif will present the performed installation The Sion Groove Sessions (A Few Poetry Lectures Recorded on Pottery) where ceramic artist Charlotte Centelighe records on clay the voice of actress Mathilde Morel as she declaims one the text from the Lyrics’ series compiled by Saâdane Afif since 2004. It is a new version of the performance A Lecture A Recording & A Few Witnesses, created in Guadalajara in 2010.
