Le Voyage à Nantes has opened its yearly event Summer Journey, now in its 12th edition. An urban itinerary where city spaces are filled with both temporary and permanent artworks, it allows visitors and locals to discover the city in a completely new way.

Created, recreated, from here or elsewhere, sculptures take over the city. All along the itinerary, in streets, public squares, secret courtyards, and other forgotten passages, they shake up daily life, whether it be past or present. Among the artists to be (re)discovered are: Olaf Breuning, Johan Creten, Maen Florin, Sanam Khatibi, Amédée Ménard, Philippe Ramette, Marion Verboom, Xu Zhen and more. On display at Cours Cambronne is L’Homme pressé (“man in a hurry”) by Thomas Houseago, a giant, 5-metre (16 ft.) hybrid of man, monster, and robot that walks with a determined gait, whose irresistible forward movement seems to stem from its incompleteness.
